Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is one of the most popular off the beaten trekking routes. The remote valley of Tsum is located north east of Manaslu. Tsum is the Tibetan term for vivid. This is also known as the Shangrila of Nepal. Trekking in Tsum Valley was first opened for outsiders to trek in 2008. Locals living in Tsum Valley are known as Tsumbas who have their origin in Tibet. Culture and ways of these Tsumbas are close to the neighboring Tibetans. Explore the antique arts. The locals adopt animism which is one of the oldest surviving religions in the world. The implacable mountain views and other highlights to Manaslu Tsum Valley trekking. Leaving Kathmandu, we will follow the swirling road to Arughat Bazaar. Local vehicle from Arughat Bazaar takes us to Soti River from where Manaslu Tsum Valley trekking route initiates. We will cross the wooden bridge and reach Philim village. Heading east, we will descend to Upper Tsum Valley. Barley, buckwheat, and potatoes are the chiefly produced crops in the region. We can encounter with the Himalayan beast like Tahrs and blue sheep which are locally called as Bharals. If we are lucky, we can also witness snow leopard. We will reach Chhekampar which is the twin village. Milarepa cave is located above Chhekampar village. We will also visit Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa monasteries. Rachen Gompa is a nunnery which provides accommodation to nuns of Ngak-pa sect. We can also visit Gumba Lungdang which is also a nunnery. Gumba Lungdang allows 360-degree views of mountains. Base Camp of Ganesh Mountain is located close to Gumba Lungdang. Our path meets with Manaslu Circuit route at Lokpa. We will cross Nupri valley and arrive at Samagaon. Close to Samagaon is Manaslu Base Camp. We will cross Larkya La pass and descend through Marsyangdi Valley to Dharapani from where trekking ends. We will drive back to Kathmandu from Dharapani. February to March and September to December are the best season for Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek.
